Spring HVAC Maintenance Tips

Coming down from colder weather, it is important to make sure that your heating and cooling features in your home or business are up to speed and working correctly to ensure that you are well equipped for the upcoming spring and summer months. Here at 9-1-1 Comfort Air, we recommend that our customers complete the following heating and cooling checklist to guarantee that your HVAC system is working correctly from this just past season as well as properly working for the upcoming spring season.

The cold temperatures in the winter seasons cause us to rely on our HVAC systems on a regular basis so it is a good idea to make sure that your system is still in good condition. HVAC systems should be checked on a yearly basis in order to make sure that everything is running to the best of the system’s ability to ensure longevity of your system. If the system is not annually checked it can cause for a number of different problems to stem. It is important to be able to rely on your system which is why 9-1-1 is dedicated in making sure your system is up to date and working properly for seasons to come.

Don’t wait until you need your air conditioning unit to turn it on. It is important that before the upcoming spring months, you turn on your air conditioning unit in order to make sure it is working properly. It is also probably a good idea to have your air conditioning unit looked at incase something is broken or altered from either the past season or because the unit itself most likely wasn’t turned on much, if at all, over the winter months. There are a few precautions that need to be taken in order to ensure your air conditioning system is in tip top shape. 9-1-1 Comfort Air can provide you or your business with the correct service and care that you might need for the warm weather ahead of us.

Outdoor panels:

Obviously outdoor heating and cooling systems take on the winter’s worst by being prone to the cold air and harsh conditions. Sometimes including rain and sometimes even snow, it isn’t uncommon that systems can become easily affected by these conditions if panels aren’t correctly attached or even if the winter windchill altered a panel on the unit itself, it could allow for unwanted debris and possibly water damage to occur to the unit. This can result in the burn out of different parts of your system. Make sure to take a close look at the outside portion of your system. If you need professional assistance be sure to contact us.

Change out air filters and/or grills:

For winter months, many homeowners install what is called a ‘grill’ on the outside of the air vent in order to make sure that things like dirt, dust, pet hair, and even human hair don’t get into the vents and clog them. A grill is often only used for heating purposes so when it comes time to switch seasons and turn on the air conditioner units, the grill is usually removed to allow the air flow to not only be sent out but pulled back into the home or business as well. If an air filter isn’t cleaned out, then there is a chance that when it gets warmer out, your AC unit might not work well or even at all.

As the warmer weather is approaching us, it is important that we rely on our HVAC Air Condition systems to keep us cool. You can rely on us to make sure that your residential and commercial HVAC systems are ready to go for the upcoming season.

Change out air filters:

It is not too common that air conditioners are used much during the winter season however, as the spring season rolls around we all know how hot South Carolina gets. It is extremely important to make sure your air conditioner unit is ready to go for the next few seasons. Air filters allow for air to safely come into the home without the excess dirt, debris, and dust that may come with it. Without air filters dirt and dust can easily travel through with the needed air which can cause for these harmful particlesto enter back into the home. If these particles become present in the air it can allow for springtime allergies to become more severe. If a air filter is clogged it doesn’t take in as much air which can result in our customers not receiving cold air in these hot months. We are able to change and clean out any air filters in order to ensure that your air conditioning unit is in the best condition for when you need it most.

Coil Drainage (Condensation Line) hose:

Now we fully understand that our customers might not know different parts of an air conditioner or HVAC unit but, we can ensure you that we are licensed and insured when it comes to repairing or installing a new HVAC system within a home or business. Leave it up to us to check out the different areas of your systems and to make sure your system is good to go for warmer weather.

A coil drainage pipe, or a condensation line, is a hose which allows for moisture to successfully to be drained from the home. Access moisture and water can cause for mold or mildew to become present within this hose. It is important to clean the pipe out in order to make sure that mold does not become present within your home. 9-1-1 Comfort Air can clean out this hose without a problem to make sure that there is no harmful mold or bacteria growing into your house.

Air Ducts:

Air ducts are responsible for the removal and the distribution of air into your home. When your air duct is cracked or has any leak at all, it can cause air to not properly insert or exit the home. This can result in home owners or business owners having to pay more money for air they will not be receiving. A crack or leak could have easily started during the winter season which is why it is crucial to check this part of your HVAC system. We can check and repair any cracked or leaking air ducts to ensure that you will receive the most dependable services around.

Yearly service:

It is extremely important to have a yearly inspection done on your HVAC unit. By doing this it ensures that all areas of your system are properly checked and up to date. A yearly maintenance check up can include checking the air filters, the air ducts, checking evaporator coils, and much more. These things should be checked annually to ensure that the system is running smoothly and efficiently in order to prevent any catastrophic damages to the system that would have stemmed from a small issue. At 9-1-1 Comfort Air we will provide you with dependable and trustworthy service that can save you both time and money in the long run.
